Applicants are advised in their owun interest to submit Online Application much before the closing
date to avoid possibility of any failure to submit application due to heavy load/jam on website.
In case the Applicant does not have a VALID personal e-mail ID he/she should create his / her own e- mail ID before applying online application and must maintain that e-mail ID till the end of engagement process.
This is a Centralized Notification for engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 being conducted by Western Railway and Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway (RRC-WR) has been nominated as nodal agency for obtaining ONLINE applications from
Applicants.
Applicants can submit their applications ONLINE only on RRC’s website https://www.rrcwr.com. The candidature of the Applicants will be considered only on the basis of the information filled in the ONLINE application. Document Verification will be held in the concerned Divisions & Workshops.
In case of Direct Recruitment from Open Market to Posts / Categories in Level – 1 (Rs. 18,000/- - Rs. 56,900/-), Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) trained in Railway Establishments and possessing National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) will be given preference in filling up 20% vacancies on qualifying the requisite norms notified by RRB/RRC.
1. Western Railway invites ONLINE applications from interested Applicants for engagement as Act Apprentices against the 5066 slots notified for training in the designated Trades under Apprentice Act
1961 at various Divisions, Workshops within the jurisdiction of Western Railways for the year 2024-25. 2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:- (A) AGE CRITERIA as on 22/10/2024 (Closing date):- 2.1 The Applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 22/10/2024. 2.2 SC/ST/OBC- Relaxation in Upper age limit by 05 years in case of SC/ST applicants and 03 years in case of OBC Applicants.
2.3 Persons with Disability (PWD):- Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
2.4 Ex-servicemen-Upper age limit is relaxed upto additional 10 years for ex-servicemen
to the extent of service rendered in Defense Forces plus 03 years provided they have
put in a minimum of 6 months service at a stretch, except Ex-servicemen who have
already joined the Govt. service on Civil side after availing the Ex-service men status for
the purpose of their engagement.
I. Ex-Servicemen:- An Ex-servicemen Applicants selected under the reservation provided or them will be placed in the appropriate category viz. UR/SC/ST/OBC to
which he belongs.
II. Ex-servicemen, their children and children of Armed Force personnel will be
engaged for Apprenticeship as per details mentioned below :
a) Children of deceased/disabled Ex-servicemen Including those killed
/disabled during peace time.
b) Children of Ex-servicemen.
c) Children of Serving Jawans.
d) Children of Serving Officer.
e) Ex-Servicemen

Closing Date and Time 22/10/2024 @ 17.00 hr
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The Applicants should have already passed the prescribed
qualification on the date of issue of this Notification i.e. 20/09/2024 as under:- i) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Matriculate or 10th Class in 10+2 examination system
with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognized Board.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: ITI certificate affiliated to NCVT/SCVT is compulsory in
relevant trade as under
PAYMENT OF FEES:-
4.1. Application fees (Non-refundable) – Rs. 100/-.
4.2 No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PWD/Women Applicants.
4.3. Fee payment will have to be made online through payment gateway as part of online application
process as under:-
i. Complete filling the online application in all respects at RRC/WR’s website www.rrc-wr.com. ii. After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the application form, Applicants are required to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the online application. No change/edit will be allowed thereafter.
iii. The payment can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc. by
providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the Applicants.
iv. Once the payment is successfully done, Applicants will be redirected to RRC/WR’s website to complete the application process and download the application form. v. In case the Applicants makes the payment and faces any issues like loss of internet connection
due to which the Applicant is unable to download the application though the fee
amount has been deducted from their Account/Debit/Credit Card, please click on “Verify Payment” button to reconfirm the same from the Payment gateway.
vi. In case after completing the Registration process, the online transaction is not successfully completed, please login again and make the online payment again. Duplication, in payment, if any will be refunded on verifying the same.
MODE OF SELECTION:-
6.1 Selection of the eligible Applicants for imparting training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be
based on the merit list which would be prepared taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the Applicants in both Matriculation [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.
6.2 In case of two Applicants ·having the same marks the Applicants having older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the Applicants who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first. There will be no written test or viva. 6.3 Applicants need not send any copies of application/ certificates / documents to RRC/WR by post but have to upload the same online.
6.4 Calculation of marks: 6.5 For the purpose of calculation of percentage of SSC / Matriculation marks, Total Marks of all Subjects mentioned in the Marksheet. (Not best of five but total of all subjects including optional subject /additional subject/ alternate subject, etc). CGPA obtained by the applicants should be converted to actual marks and duly entered by the applicant in the online application. Please note that the final score should be calculated by adding the marks of all subjects not of any group of subjects.
6.6 For the purpose of calculation of percentage of ITI marks, average marks mentioned in consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the trade applied i.e. Marks mentioned in the Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT ISCVT, which is to be duly entered by the applicant in the online application will only be reckoned.
a. The applicant should note that in case any discrepancy in the Marks/CGPA
entered in the online application and the Original Marksheet/ Certificate, is found
at the time of Document Verification, the candidature of the Applicants will be
rejected summarily. 6.7 The Trade-wise/ Community-wise Merit List will be issued by the concerned Division/Units for their
Notified slots. Applicants will be called by the concerned Division/Units as per the Merit in the relevant trade considering the Divisions/ Workshop opted by the candidate. In case of any shortfall in ular trade in any given Division/Workshop, Western Railway reserves the right to Redistribute the candidates to other Divisions/Workshops.
6.8 Final selection of Applicants would be subject to verification of original testimonials and Medical Fitness Certificate as per Annexure G.
6.9 Candidates in the Stand- by list will be issued Call Letters only on receipt of details of absentees, medically unfit and rejected candidates from the Merit list allotted to the concerned Divisions/Workshop. The Call letters will be issued strictly in the order of Merit.
6.10 Applicants are advised to be in readiness at short notice to report to the allotted Divns & Workshops for Document / Certificate Verification.
TRAINING PERIOD & STIPEND :- 7.1 Training Period:-
The selected Applicants are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 01 Year.
7.2 Stipend:-
Selected Candidates engaged as Apprentices will undergo Apprenticeship training for a period of one year and will be paid a Stipend during the training at the prescribed rate as per extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments.
8. MODE OF APPLICATION: -
8.1. Applicants are required to apply ONLINE by visiting www.rrc-wr.com. Detailed instructions for filling up ONLINE applications will be available on the website.
8.2 Applicants are required to fill up the personal details/ Trade/ Aadhaar number/ Marks/CGPA/ preference for Divisions/ Workshops etc. very carefully as the Computerized Merit list will be
prepared only on the basis of the information filled by the Applicant in the ONLINE
application. In case of any discrepancy observed at the time of Document Verification, the Applicant will be disqualified summarily.
8.3 Applicants should be in possession of Aadhaar Card. At the time of registration, Applicants have to fill 12-digit Aadhaar Card number. The Applicants not having Aadhaar number and have enrolled for
Aadhaar but have not received Aadhaar Card can enter 28-digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar Enrolment slip.
8.4 This provision is applicable to the Applicants of all states and Union Territories except the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam. Applicants from these states can enter in the online
application form, their voter ID number, valid passport number, driving license number or any other valid Government identity card at the time of online application. Applicants have to produce original Aadhaar card or document mentioned above, at the time of Document Verification. 8.5 Applicants should ensure their name, father’s name, date of birth should exactly match as recorded in
Matriculation or equivalent certificate. Any deviation found during Document Verification will lead to cancellation of candidature and also debarment.
8.6 Applicants are advised to indicate their active mobile number and valid e-mail ID in the ONLINE application and keep them active during the entire engagement process as all important messages will be notified on website and email/SMS will be sent only to the selected Applicants which
will be treated as deemed to have been read by the Applicants.
8.7 Choice of only one Division /Workshop is permitted. Option once exercised is FINAL and binding to the candidates. Applicants are instructed to check Trade-wise vacancy table (Annexure A) to ascertain the vacancies notified and ensure that the Division /Workshop they wish to apply is having
vacancies as per their Trade/ Qualification / Community / Category.
8.8 Applicants possessing ITI qualification in more than one trade can apply for different relevant trades
separately.
8.9 Applicants trying to submit more than one application for the same TRADE with different particulars like Name/Father’s name/Community/PWD/ educational and/or technical qualification etc. or with different
Email ID/Mobile Number are informed that all such applications will be summarily rejected.
8.10 Applicants have to download printouts of their online application which should be produced as and
when required by the Railway Administration.
8.11 Applicants are required to report for Document /Certificate Verification with their Originals along with Medical Fitness Certificate (Annexure G) in the concerned Division / Workshop / Unit.
8.12 Applicants are required to upload their EWS Certificate as mentioned at Para 3.7 if he/she is claiming against EWS Quota
DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED: -
Applicants are required to upload the legible self attested scanned copy of following documents: -
9.1 SSC (Standard 10th) or its equivalent Mark Sheet. Certificate for proof of date of birth (Standard 10 or its equivalent certificate or mark sheet indicating date of birth or School Leaving Certificate indicating date of birth).
9.2 Consolidated ITI mark Sheet of all semesters of the trade in which applied / Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
9.3 National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT /SCVT.
9.4 Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC Applicants in Annexure – B, C &D wherever applicable, as mentioned in Para
9.5 Disability certificate, in case of PwBD Applicants Annexure –E, F & G (as applicable). 9.6 Discharge certificate / Serving certificate, in case of Applicants applied against Ex-Servicemen
quota.
9.7 Applicants are required to upload Scanned copy/ soft copy of their colour photograph (size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm ) taken not later than three months from the date of application, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20 kb-70 kb) with clear front view of the Applicants without cap and sunglasses. Applicants may note that RRC may, at any stage, reject the applications for uploading old/unclear photograph or for any significant variations between photograph uploaded in the Application Form and the actual Physical appearance of the Applicants. Applicants are advised to keep two additional copies of the same photograph ready with them and carry the same at the time of Document /Certificate Verification.
9.8 Applicants are also required to upload the Scanned copy / soft copy their signature (size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20 kb - 30kb).
NOTE:- 1. Certificates in languages other than English or Hindi should be accompanied by an attested copy of translation in English / Hindi.
2. Production of Originals of uploaded documents along with 2 self attested photocopies on the day of Document Verification in the Concerned Division is mandatory. Applications without requisite enclosures uploaded will be summarily rejected and no additional document will be accepted during the Document Verification.
9.9 Income & Asset Certificate (Annexure H) to be uploaded by Economically Weaker
Section wherever applicable.
